The fence trainer generates a sound that is audible to animals, particularly wolves. The fence trainer draws its power from the fence, so no battery is required. The device is connected between the live wire and the earth wire. Animals associate the tap with the shock effect caused by the fence. As a result, they avoid the fence, which is known as the “Pavlov” principle. The senses register something, a smell, taste or sound that is linked to a negative experience, the shock of the fence. Animals, such as wolves, recognise the negative experience from the sound and therefore avoid the fence or become uncertain. Predators do not take any risks because they cannot afford to be injured, which would prevent them from hunting. KOLTEC knows this principle from its ST model (160-81000), where the click of the mechanism ensures that animals stay away from the fence because of the association with the shock of the fence. 
One Fence Trainer is required per hectare, or every 200 metres in length.
